In short: we collect only what we need to move your goods, we never sell your personal data, and we only pass details on to the people who actually deliver your job. The rest of this page sets out the full details.
01Who we are
Sprinters Logistics ("Sprinters", "we", "us") runs the Sprinters Logistics Hub website at sprinters.co.tz and the Sprinters app and related platforms at sprintersapp.co.tz. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. It applies to both the website and the app.
We are the data controller for the personal data described below. Our registered office is:
Plot 1403/1 Bains Avenue, Masaki,
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
02Information we collect
We collect only what we need to quote for, book and complete your logistics job. What we hold depends on how you use us:
Account details
Your full name, email address and a password (stored only as an encrypted hash), plus your account role — customer, transporter, warehouse owner, warehouse manager or administrator.
Service requests
Whatever you type into a request form: contact name, email and phone number, cargo or shipment type, weight and dimensions, pickup and delivery locations, ports of origin and destination, Incoterms and HS codes, recipient name and phone number, moving addresses, flight and baggage details, and any special instructions you add.
Transporter partners
Company name, fleet size, truck types, routes served, email, mobile number, city and indicative rates.
Warehouse partners
Company name, warehouse location and size, storage types, amenities, email, mobile number, city and indicative rates.
Warehouse inventory records
Warehouse managers record stock held on their premises — customer name, description and quantity, declared value, space used, storage type, start date, duration and notes.
Messages you send us
Your name, email address, subject and message when you use our contact form or write to us.
Text message (SMS) notifications
When you submit a request we send a confirmation text to the phone number you gave us. That number and the message content are passed to our SMS provider.
Technical and session data
Your login session, and small preferences saved in your own browser (for example whether you have already seen our welcome screen). We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
When you give us somebody else's details — for example a delivery recipient's name and phone number — please make sure you are allowed to share them and that they know we will use them to complete the job.
03How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your Sprinters account
- Receive, price and complete transport, shipping, warehousing, delivery or moving jobs
- Match your request with a suitable transporter or warehouse in our network
- Send you confirmations, status updates and reminders by text or email
- Answer your questions and provide customer support
- Keep accurate records of stock held across our warehouse network
- Improve our services and investigate complaints
- Prevent fraud, abuse and misuse of the platform
- Meet our legal, tax, customs and audit obligations
05Our lawful basis
We handle personal data in line with Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Act No. 11 of 2022 (Chapter 44), which came into force on 13 June 2023, and with any other data protection law that applies where you deal with us. Depending on the situation, we rely on:
Your consent
For your account, SMS notifications and marketing messages. You can withdraw this at any time.
Our agreement with you
To quote for, book and deliver the service you asked for.
Our legitimate interests
To keep the platform secure, prevent fraud and improve our services.
Legal obligation
To keep records required by tax, customs and accounting rules.
06How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete or anonymise it. As a working guide:
07How we protect your data
- All traffic between your device and our platforms is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Passwords are stored only as salted hashes — never in plain text, and never readable by our staff.
- Access is limited by role: only authorised administrators can view the full list of service requests; warehouse managers see only their own stock records; transporter and warehouse listings are not open to the public.
- Database access rules (row-level security) mean a signed-in user can only read and change their own records.
- We review who has access to systems regularly and keep backups of the database.
No method of transmission or storage is completely safe. If you believe your data with us has been compromised, tell us at Info@sprinters.co.tz straight away and we will investigate.
08Transfers outside Tanzania
We operate in Tanzania, Rwanda and Dubai, and the providers we work with may store data outside the country you are in. Where we send personal data outside Tanzania we take steps to make sure it is protected to a standard that compares with the Personal Data Protection Act — through contracts, limited access and encryption.
09Your rights and choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- Confirm whether we hold your data and give you a copy of it
- Correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
- Delete data we no longer need to hold
- Stop processing your data for a particular purpose
- Withdraw consent you previously gave us
- Move your data to another provider in a usable format
Email Info@sprinters.co.tz with the subject line "Privacy Request". We may need to confirm your identity before acting, we do not charge for a request, and we reply within 30 days. Some records must be kept by law and cannot be deleted on request.
11Third-party links and maps
Our contact page shows a Google Maps view of our office, which is served by Google and may record your IP address. Any other link we provide takes you to a site we do not control, and this policy does not cover how those sites handle your data — please read their privacy notices.
12Children
Our services are offered to businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this page as our services or the law change. The date at the top always shows when it was last revised, and we will tell you by email or with a notice in the app before any change that materially affects how we use your data.
